​Shamaila S. Malik is the Senior Attorney and Founder of Malik Law Firm, PLLC. Her practice focuses solely on criminal defense and immigration. Shamaila, a native Texan, has worked throughout her life to ultimately practice as an attorney.

A graduate of Carroll Senior High School in Southlake, TX, Shamaila spent all four years of high school on the debate team and three years as a volunteer at Metroport Teen Court, as both Lead Defense Attorney and Attorney Trainer.

Shamaila then went on to Texas Christian University in FortWorth, TX, where she graduated cum laude and with honors in 2007 with a degree in Bachelor’s of Business Administration (double major, Finance and Accounting) in Bachelor’s of Arts (major in Political Science). Shamaila’s honors thesis can be found in the TCU library, entitled ‘The Juvenile Justice System: Is The Treatment Of Juveniles As Adults Effective Public Policy?’

Following her undergraduate career, Shamaila attended Baylor University School of Law School in Waco, TX from February 2008 to November 2010. While attending law school full time, Shamaila also worked outside of school to gain practical experience. She worked for Catholic Charities as a legal assistant, providing immigration relief to low-income families and to victims of domestic abuse. Shamaila also worked as a student representative for Kaplan Bar Review during and after law school. Additionally, Shamaila interned for McLennan County District Attorney’s Office, and she also interned for esteemed District Judge Gary Coley. Shamaila’s passion lies in both criminal and immigration law. She has a drive to serve her clients passionately, ethically, and to the fullest extent of the law.

During her free time, Shamaila volunteers as an attorney at the Genesis Women’s Shelter, serves as president on her community HOA, and is an avid volunteer for various dog rescue organizations within the DFW area.

Shamaila speaks English, Spanish, and Hindi/Urdu.
